How do I determine the Windows CE, Pocket Internet Explorer and Pocket Outlook versions ?

To determine the versions running on your Easy Mate 800, do as follows:

  • Tap the Start button, select Settings and tap Control Panel.
  • Double-tap the System icon to open System Properties.
  • Tap the Settings tab and the information should be there.

Cannot Open E-Mail after Restoring System

When I restore a backup created using the program ActiveSync on my handheld PC (H/PC), it sometimes happens that I cannot open my e-mail messages any more. They still are present in the Inbox of the Pocket Outlook program but it is impossible to open them. How can I solve this problem ?

This can happen if the e-mail messages on the H/PC are not linked to messages on the workstation, and it applies to the following products:

  • Microsoft Windows CE Services, versions 2.0 and 2.1
  • Microsoft Windows CE versions 2.0 for the handheld PC

To resolve this situation, it is necessary to synchronise the H/PC with the workstation. To achieve this, first connect the H/PC to the workstation. Once connected perform the following actions on the workstation:

  • Click the Start button, select Programs, Communication, and finally click ActiveSync.
  • Select Sync Now, and then Disconnect.
  • Now you should be able to open the e-mail messages.
