General Keyboard-Only Commands
F1 | Starts Windows Help |

SHIFT+F10 | Opens a context menu for the selected item. This is the same as right-clicking an object |
CTRL+ESC | Opens the Start menu. Use the ARROW keys to select an item |
CTRL+ESC, ESC | Selects the Start button. Press TAB to select the taskbar, or press SHIFT+F10 for a context menu |
ALT+Down Arrow | Opens a drop-down list box |

Misc
When rebooting your computer (by selecting appropriate commands from Start menu) you can hold the Shift key. In this case only Windows will reboot, not the computer itself.
If you hold the Ctrl button pressed while Windows loading, then programs from the AutoRun group will not run automatically.
When you work with Notepad pressing F5 will insert the current date and time right next to your cursor.
