Epson LQ-500

The Epson LQ-500 was a new addition to the range and aimed at the low end LQ printer market. It offered a print quality comparable to other LQ printers but fortified speed and paper handling to enable it to be sold at a very competitive price. It was launched in January 86 and replaced by two printers the LQ-400 for home and education markets and the LQ-550 in the small business sector in July 1989. The printer has two sets of DIP (Dual In-line Package) switches located below a cover at the top right-hand rear of the printer. These switches control certain printer functions and default settings, the details of which are listed below.
