Alternative Drivers

Drivers you can use if the BJ-300 driver is not available.

  • IBM ProPrinter X24 (BJ Mode)

Cartridge

  • BJI-642 - Black

Self Test

Character Test Print: With the printer switched off press & hold LF/FF then power on. Release LF/FF. Press online to cancel
Character Test: With the printer switched off press & hold Shift then power on. Release Shift. Press online to cancel.

Cleaning Printhead

  • Short Cleaning Method
    • Press OFFLINE, the online light should be off.
    • Press SHIFT and CLEANING and release
    • The ONLINE led will flash while cleaning is running.
    • Cleaning takes about 13 seconds.
    • After cleaning is finished, press the LF/FF key to print a nozzle test print
  • Long Cleaning Method
    • Press OFFLINE, the online light should be off.
    • Press SHIFT and release
    • Press CLEANING and hold.
    • Press SHIFT and hold
    • Release CLEANING
    • The ONLINE led will flash while cleaning is running.
    • Cleaning takes about 30 seconds.
    • After cleaning is finished, press the LF/FF key to print a nozzle test print

Location - Silver coloured label on the back of the printer
Prefixes - UCJ...

Known Issues

Cannot Print in Windows 98

If you cannot print in Wondows 98, make sure that the printer port is set to either SPP, Standard, or Normal in the computer's BIOS.

When printing text files with Form Feed paper, prints on the preforations

Set Dipswitch SW2-8 ON (Skip Over Perforation enabled) provides a 1 inch margin
