Acer V72MA Motherboard
Jumper and Connector Layout
Note - The blackened pin of a jumper represents pin 1.
The system board has the following major features:
- Processor: Supports AMD K6 and K6-2 (300, 333, 350, 366, 380, 400 MHz and higher) processors with Socket-7. Processor SMM (System Management Mode), STOP clock control
- Speed: System bus frequency 66, 95 and 100MHz supported.
- Chipset: ALI Aladdin V PCI chipset M1542 (AGP, Processor-to-PCI Bridge, Memory,Cache and Buffer Controller) / M1543C (PCI-to-ISA Bus Bridge with Super I/O). It should be PCI 2.1 and USB 1.0a compliant.
- Clock Generator: ICS 9148-36 or compatible ones.
- RTC: Chipset ALI M5819 and system clock/calendar with 3 years minimum battery life.
- Memory: 2 DIMM sockets supporting 2 pieces of single-sided/double-sided 3.3V SDRAM modules. Supports 8/16/32/64/128MB and up to a maximum of 256MB EDO DRAM/SDRAM.
- Cache: 512KB (64K*64) second level Write-back PipeLine Burst SRAM supported cache and external 32K*8 tag SRAM.
- BIOS: 256KB Flash ROM for System BIOS with APM and ACPI compliance.
- Video: AGP ATI RAGE Pro Turbo with 8MB video SDRAM.
- Audio: ESS Solo-1 PCI audio onboard, integrated SW 3D Stereo Enhancement and compatible with Sound Blaster TM, Sound Blaster Pro TM, and Windows Sound SystemTM (optional).
- SPS: 95W 5V standby power supply. OS Directed Power Management. ACPI specification.
- Internal Interface:
- UltraDMA/33 Enhanced IDE interface supports up to 4 IDE devices like IDE hard disk, LS120 Diskette drive, or ATAPI CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. ATA-compliant hard disk power-saving feature.
- Supports 1.44MB and 2.88MB floppy disk drives.
- 2 PCI slots and 1 shared PCI/ISA slot with PnP ISA version 1.0A compliance.
- Ports:
- One high speed NS16C550 compatible UART with 16 byte FIFO Serial Port.
- One Standard Mode/EPP/ECP (IEEE 1284 compliant) Parallel Port.
- Four USB ports support (with a USB daughter board) one HCI 1.0a.
- PS/2 type keyboard and mouse port but the default setting in BIOS setup is Disabled. The default type of keyboard and mouse for this system is USB type. Therefore, if you want to use a PS/2 type device, you must change the BIOS setting.
- Audio Connectors - One line-in jack, one line-out jack, one microphone jack and oneMIDI/joystick connector.
